Fascia or Myofascia is the dense, tough tissue which surrounds and covers all of your muscles and bones. This outer fascia covering is very strong and flexible. In fact, it has a tensile strength of over 2,000 pounds.

Myofascial (my-o-FASH-e-ul) release is a manual therapy technique often used in massage. The technique focuses on pain believed to arise from myofascial tissues. The goal of myofascial therapy is to work with soft tissue, stretching and loosening it.  These actions can cause the facia and other contiguous structures to move more freely, thus restoring movement.  There are 3 layers of facia around everything in the body and the proper working of the facia would allow the right communication of fluids and hormones.
